Hello world.
This page is going to be purely about me and what interests me. To start with, my name is Loz Taylor and I am 19 years old living near London. I am currently studying Computer Science at Royal Holloway, University of London. My main interests are pretty broad to be honest, but I am a bit of a computer whore. By that I mean I like technology and computer games, not that I sell my body on the internet. I love my Xbox 360 and have gripes with the PS3. I do however have a Wii that I pull out once a year for the one decent title that might come out. I am a World of Warcraft player and you can find me on Terenas on Horde side on the character Loz (yes I did start on the first day so I could get that name).
I have A levels in Computer Science, Politics and Media Studies and these have helped me to engage with the rest of the world. Politics especially has helped me to broaden my political views but also my philosophical views. I won’t go into too much detail here as I am sure my views on this will change fairly regularly (well, not too regularly, but more regularly than I’d like to have to keep updating this page).
I consider myself a reasonably competent coder and can code in Visual Basic (nothing to shout about), JAVA and have had to dabble in HTML and LUA. JAVA is my favourite language and even prompted me to do a short course at college. I recently sat the exam and passed with a Distinction. As other net users, I’ve had to dabble in HTML to be able to post exactly what I want on forums etc. It’s just one of those things you have to know, but my knowledge of HTML does go beyond that of Myspace HTML requirements. I mentioned LUA, but i’ve not really done all that much of it to say I am good at it. I can understand the language (even made a WoW mod) but I’m far from good at it.
Asides from all the above, I am a twin. My twin (Rob) also has a blog and that is linked down the side. I would be the eldest in my year, but the bastard beat me out of the womb by 19 minutes. Curse him and his early freedom. Other than Rob, I have an older brother called Sam and he’s 21. As far as I know, we are all atheists even though we were brought up in a casual Christian house by our parents. Christianity; amongst other religions, helps to teach morals etc. but it just doesn’t appeal to me now that I am older. The idea of a God looking after us sounds a bit poposterous now I’m not 8 years old. I’m not going to preach Atheism as that’s not how I roll (ask James Smith if you want a rant about Christianity). I am still relatively young, so I am sure my mind will develop these ideas further as I get older.
But yer, I don’t think there’s anything else to say about myself other than that I’m a cool guy. I also would like to think that i’m a funny guy; but judging that by my attempts at retort in this post, I’m probably not.
