It’s been well over a week since I last posted so I think it’s only fair that I write something here. A fair bit has happened over the last week and a half (well, considering I do fuck all at the moment, the things I’m about to tell you are HUGE). Firstly, I got my awesome new laptop last friday (with a big question mark over that date ??) and it’s amazing. It’s nice to finally have a computer that works properly and doesn’t have any niggly problems that I usually encounter with dodgy XP copies. It was bought for me as a birthday present by my parents, but then was subsidised by my grandparents so I have them to thank for it. It’s a Dell XPS M1530. My only complaint is that the speakers are rather tame, but seeing that I’ll be plugging in my old speakers for sound, that’s not really an issue.
Besides the gaining of the laptop, I also called a quits to the Nazi regime. No, not the actual Nazi regime as that was ended years ago, but my employment at Somerfield. I don’t actually believe the work force or managerial staff are akin to the Nazis at all, it was my attempt at a joke. But anyway, I’ve finally hung up the name badge (like I wore it anyways) and it felt good. I’ve never had to write a resignation notice before, but it felt liberating and strangely easy to write. I’ve had the job for 3 years now (took the job as soon as I turned 16, nothing to do with nepotism with the job being passed from my older brother to me at all….) and it’s nice to sleep til obscene hours on sundays. Poor Richard and Smelly Old Man, they won’t ever be graced with my presence ever again.
Moving on, September the 4th is this week’s day of the week! It’s my birthday on thursday! I’ll only mention this a few times because I don’t want to keep reminding myself that I’m getting older. I don’t feel like I’m about to turn 19 to be honest, I still feel alot younger. I’m looking forward to saturday as it might be one of the last times i’ll see the large majority of my closest friends as I’m having a bit of a birthday party. Since most of us will be scattered about the UK by the end of September (one friend has already moved to Wales for Uni), we’ll be hard pushed to fit in another great drinking night after saturday. I don’t think this will be the last time I will see them all though, as with the internet, we’ll be kept in contact quite well and I’m sure there’ll be big meet ups at the end of each term 🙂
I definately will be looking forward to them.
